Love is in the air, and not just for Bella the wedding planner, and her boyfriend DJ, in It Had to Be You. Love brings families together with Italian passion and food. The family is celebrating the marriage of Rosa and Lazarro. Bella grew up with her favorite Aunt Rosa and Uncle Lazarro, and since this is such a huge event, everything had to be just right. Bella hoped to bring to life Aunt Rosa's dream wedding and reception, and make her aunts' dream come true. Of course, Aunt Rosa has to help and Bella can't keep her out of the kitchen. By the sounds of the reception menu, I would love to attend this wedding with the great food and big band swing dancing.Sparks start to fly - not only in the love department and in the planning of Rosa and Lazarro's wedding, but between family members as they start arriving from Italy to join the celebration. There are many surprises and things to catch up on!
It Had To Be You is the third book in the 'Wedding by Bella' series. Janice Thompson has captured the essence of the Italian-American family in this series full of love, respect, fun, food and music. Thanks to your books Janice, I've been taken away from the worries of the day and swept into Bella's world, with her and her family, and all the incredible weddings she was contracted to do. It can't get any better than that...fun, family, food and dancing. I'm there!! Thanks for the memories Janice, great R&R and the spiritual thread that ran through all three books. Janice talked about God, how to love well and how to get close to Him and each other. This spiritual thread radiated in a fun but powerful way in this series. I had so much fun. I can't wait to see where Janice Thompson will take me in her next series.

It Had to Be You Weddings by Bella Book 3 Janice Thompson 9780800733445 Books Reviews
This book, as well as the entire series is simply darling! There are no other words for it. It shows a "normal" Christian family with issues that most people, Christian or not, can relate to. There are some things that really irritated me about this book though. While I understand Bella is in the wedding business and she has to plan weddings for other brides, you'd think her family of all people would understand she needs time to be excited about HER wedding. I wanted to slap her sister. Especially when she threw her under the bus.
I love how the author paints such a picture of the family and their chaos and how they go to God for EVERYTHING. It's very telling about their walk.
And I soooo cannot get enough of DJ. OMG. He is simply amazing!!! *swoon*
All in all this is a fun series to read and to be honest, it's a good series to read when you're feeling down and need a little pick me up from God Himself. )
Mrs. Thompson has such a way of making you feel part of the Rossi family!
If you have followed this series, you know the Italian family living in Texas, never has a boring day! From the parrot singing "99 Bottles of Beer or Amazing Grace" to the planning of theme weddings, this is another Bella adventure! When Laz & Rosa decide to finally get married, the relatives show up from Italy adds to the chaos! The lessons learned about faith, family, and friendships are learned by everyone, especially Bella when the week of her own wedding, she had some serious health problems. She learned to delegate and trust them to make her dreams come true!!!
I simply didn't enjoy this book. I read and mostly enjoyed the first two in the series, but this book felt a little pandering. It felt like it was written to a very low level. The dialog felt forced and so did the situations, particular at and after Rosa and Laz's wedding. It was very unbelievable, and not in a good way! This just felt like a forced ending for all of the characters. In addition, I felt like there was WAY too much religion in this book. I know that these are Christian fiction, but again in the last part of the series it felt very forced and uncomfortable. Every other page was about God and praying, and I felt like I was being lectured the entire book. Not worth the money just to read the ending of the series.
If you are into actual romance, this series may be more your style. Sure, the typical romance has the hero and herione meeting and falling in love and usually marrying all within a very, very short amount of time. In this series of books, however, Bella and DJ have gotten to know more and more about each other and their families. To me, it takes a special author to tell such a story - that doesn't begin and end in one book, and still keep your attention as a reader and keep you coming back for more. Janice Thompson does that. You get to know and like not only Bella and DJ, but also their siblings, parents, aunts and uncles. Love this series, just love it! Best yet, no graphic sex, not needed!
I have read this whole series and the first two books are pretty decent. The third fell apart for me, and it had nothing to do with the fact that it was a Christian novel. I expected that there would be lots of mentions about people coming to Christ or relying on God or anything like that because I knew from the first two books that this was a Christian series. What bothered me was Bella and sorry for the spoilers. I had grown to like her in the first two books. I even enjoyed her occassional panic attacks back then because I knew she was just starting to coordinate weddings on her own. By the third, I was over that. Her confusion as to who's wedding was who's (especially her own) was annoying. The fact that she was too busy to find out why her best friend was missing for almost a week, unacceptable. Finally, she literally lives out the Bible verse about ignoring the plank in her eye while trying to take the speck out of another person's which would be cool if it didn't mean she ignored what could have been a major health problem for too long. Even I know when to call a doctor about something, and I hate going to the doctor. The only way I would read this book again would be if I was reading the first two again and felt I needed to finish the series.
